Day 17

A mixed day really, highs, lows and some in between.

Harry decided to get up early and go to Ruyterwacht to see Yonick play for his new team. I on the other hand chose a lay in. Sorry Yonick I'll see you another time. So I waited around, did some tidying up and got myself ready for Harry's return. We had planned to go down to the waterfront to have a look around the shops and to find somewhere to watch the Arsenal game.

Harry turned up about half12 with Yonick, he hadn't gone to the game as his registration hadn't gone through, I didn't feel bad about not going now, and was pleased with the extra couple of hours sleep. We then walked through town to the waterfront, it took about an hour, but it was a nice enjoyable walk, probably would have taken just as long by bus anyway. We checked out a place to see if they were showing the football, a nice pub/restaurant with loads of TVs with sport on. We just about had time to get some lunch have a look in a few shops before the game.

The game, it was the North London derby, we had high expectations, but we were awful, blowing a 1-0 lead and losing in the 87th minute. They were by far the better team as much as it kills me to say it. But oh well we will say how much it matters come May.

We then walked back to Berghof picked up some bits and went back to Yonicks, Harry and Yonick, while I was sleeping this morning organised to go see a film tonight. They had chosen to go see 'The Kingsman' I thought it was a good idea so we met am with Yonicks sister Jodi and we set off to go see the film. Arriving early we had chance to check the place out, it wasn't just a cinema, it had a casino, an arcade, an ice rink and loads of places to get food. Tickets for the film were R46 which is about £2.50, not bad, much cheaper than back home. The film was really good, great pick Harry and Yonick.

So today has been a nice day off, shame about the result but a really good way to end the day. Harry and I are both starting to miss home, I think it's because we've had a lot of time to sit around and think about things. Hoping a busy week next week will take my mind off of it. Another day off tomorrow and we are planning on going to the beach, everyone keeps telling us we have to go to a beach so we are looking forward to it, I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
